This is arguably a bit more serious. And I know I’m supposed to be shocked and appalled, but for some reason I can’t stop laughing.
Maybe I’m having a hard time buying the pretense that Joe Conason really cares about the dignity of the police uniform.

Mitt Romney should just admit everything he has ever done that could possibly be used against him right now, and people on the right should dig into his background to find things he may not remember, just so there is no “surprise” right before the election. I know the Democrats are planning that (but I guess they’ll just make something up if they have no genuine dirt on him to use).
I have a suspicion that there’s very little to uncover. The Democrats are in a pretty scary position right now. The economy is sputtering. If they had good dirt to use on Romney, they’d be using it now, I suspect. The fact hat we’re hearing about his high school pranks indicates otherwise.
