Grignr Emerges From The Grave in ‘The Sacred Crest’

There’s a bit of news in the world of The Eye of Argon, which, as I have previously discussed, is enjoying an expanding universe. The story has always been that Jim Theis, author of Argon, only wrote that, before the blowback to it destroyed in him forever the wish to create. That’s sort of true, except for never creating anything else part.

As it turns out, two years after Argon, Theis wrote a second story, also featuring Grignr, the red-haired barbarian of Ecordia. It’s called The Sacred Crest, and it has been made available by Walt Jaschek on Amazon.

Jaschek, a comic-book artist and journalist of the Silver Age, was a high-school friend and collaborator of Theis, and in 1972 they worked together on their own fanzine, and in that fanzine, Theis published a second Grignr story, “The Sacred Crest”.

And to that end, we recorded a podcast on the topic.
